How can this happen? Here's how, a small number of highly organized and motivated pilots have hijacked our Association. They preyed on the fear, apathy and greed of pilots who chose to get their information on Jetflyers and even worse from anonymous posters on Airline Pilot Central instead of from their elected representatives (with the exception of the Block 2 Rep.) The group even has a name and conditions for membership. It's a secret society that calls for “transparency, unity and solidarity”. The group is the FedEx Freedom Flyers and a condition of charter membership in their group, was that you be unvaccinated against the COVID virus. But, this letter isn't about the vax or COVID, it's about making you aware of who is controlling our Association and how it affects you.
Social media makes everyone an expert. Ask yourself this, “Why would I believe people I don't know, have never met, don't know their expertise, and have no accountability or experience over people who have spent years (some, decades) as Subject Matter Experts, that ARE accountable, HAVE expertise and are required BY LAW to tell you the truth - not just what sounds good to their fellow Keyboard Warriors”?
You may or may not be aware of the recent attempt to oust the Negotiating Chairman through questionable (at best) parliamentary moves – see the most recent skullduggery letter from Block 1 Rep. The FFF mobilized and recalled several Block Reps and replaced them with straw men who do the bidding of the FFF behind a cloak of secrecy. A former FFF who was a replacement for the recalled Block 7 Rep went against the will of the FFF and now they are organizing to recall him after only a couple of weeks in office.
If you are willing to wait 10 years for an agreement that will be dictated to the MEC through a secret group then you are in luck! That will be a reality in a very short time. You will soon be represented by a man who will make you wait 10 years for a raise and by another representative who is a known flat earther.
If you are not willing to wait 10 years for the next TA, nor want to be represented by crazies, you will have to make some personal sacrifices. You’ll have to sacrifice a little of your time. You will have to come to Memphis and attend LEC meetings to elect rational and sane people to represent you. Ask them directly if they are a member of FFF. Ask them if they will wait 10 years for a TA. Ask them anything you want. The first opportunity will be to elect Interim Representatives for LEC 26. I will tell you this though - all three recently elected LEC 26 reps are FFF.
